This video is made by former gas company insider Chip Northrup in Texas who is warning the world, and especially New York State, about one particular horror of the fracking process: the truck convoys.
He tells us here that if fracking comes to your town, you will see more trucks per week than you would see in a year. These are 18 wheelers weighing up to 80,000 lbs.
The impact of these truck convoys is absolutely devastating. Up to 7.8 million gallons of water are used per well, and thousands of gallons of chemicals of fracking fluids. This all has to be trucked to the well site, and then the radium contaminated frack waste water has to be trucked away. That is another 200-300 tanker truckloads!
Basically, a small town can be quickly paralyzed and polluted with frack truck traffic.
Per well, the number of truck trips going to and from is about 2,600 trips.
He estimates that the town center can be ruined for about 30 years.
