Here is another great video about Growing Power, the largest year round food producer for these kinds of crops in the state of Wisconsin.

Aquaponics is the symbiotic cultivation of plants and fish in a re-circulating system. Growing Power, a community-based urban food center in Milwaukee, WI uses Tilapia and Yellow Perch to fertilize a variety of crops and herbs with this amazing system.

This perch cannot even be fished in Lake Michigan because of mercury contamination.

Thanks to the advantage they take of the vertical space, they have transformed 3,000 square feet into an area that grows food normally needing 4,500 square feet.

Talk about making the most of what is available: the compost is what heats the enormous greenhouses!
