In this beautiful short video, motion graphic studio Thought Cafe teamed up with David Suzuki and Tara Cullis to reiterate their poignant wake up call. "When we compromise the air, the water, the soil, and the variety of life, we steal from the endless future to serve the fleeting present" recites Cullis.
Suzuki and Cullis, along with Raffi Cavoukian, Wade Davis and Guujaaw, created The Declaration of Interdependence for the United Nations' Earth Summit. That was in 1992. The applicability of this message 21 years later is haunting.
Thought Bubble, artist Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas, and sound designer Allan Levy have created a stunning backdrop for the David Suzuki Foundation's poetic call to environmental awareness. The original message is now more urgent than ever; we must do the work and remain optimistic.
Suzuki states, "We are learning from our mistakes. We are mourning our vanished kin. and we now build a new politics of hope."
