Frank Buckley is an unemployed Irish artist who got hold of truckloads of decommissioned old euros from the Irish Mint, negotiated by the Central Bank of Ireland. He shredded the notes, and turned them into building blocks, furniture, appliances and decorative items for his home.
He lives in a 1.4 Billion Euro house, literally!
Buckley says his work-in-progress is about "creating debate". He still plans to build a kitchen and bedroom, complete with a mattress stuffed entirely with shredded notes.
What an expressive statement on fiat currency in our time- and a great example of paper recycling!
