Less Water, Chemicals, Labor and Energy!

Sky Greens is the name of one of the world's first commercial vertical farms, located in Singapore.

Towers of vegetables reaching up four stories into the sky rotate between a nutrient bath below and the sun above, fed by a gravity wheel that requires very low energy to operate.

This system also requires less water, labor and chemical inputs.

According to this video, it is ten times more productive per square foot than conventional farming.

The business potential is huge here in Singapore, where there is demand for local produce. Only 7% of the produce it consumes is grown on the island.

The owner has raised over 28 million dollars in public and private money to more than quadruple the capacity.
