Humans have basic needs which are aimed to be met through the economy.
So what are those needs, exactly?
There are several theories.

2. Participation
3. Idleness
4. Affection
5. Understanding, Learning
6. Creation
7. Identity
8. Freedom
9. Protection
These needs, he believes, are a constant across all cultures. What changes is how we obtain these things.
