Bio-char has miracle properties that may be key to revitalizing depleted soil all over the world.
Bio-char is one of the most exciting developments in science today. A fine-grained charcoal high in organic carbon, and largely resistant to decomposition, it is an ancient method of enhancing soil fertility and carbon sequestration. It helps the soil retain water and increase crop yields. It enhances microbiological activity. It retains nutrients for plants that would otherwise be lost to the atmosphere, or washed away by rains.
This could represent a key strategy in breaking the cycle of slash and burn farming, and restore our soil.
