Converting a swimming pool into a pond is a beautiful solution if you don't want to maintain it anymore or have the expense of filling it in.

You can easily create a peaceful nature preserve, filled with wildlife. Ducks, birds and frogs will show up on your property, and according to this video, the mosquitoes that bite don't like deep water!

All you do in a chlorine pool is stop the chemical treatment. Algae starts growing and eventually it is hospitable to nature's creatures.

"Our electricity bill halved when we turned the filter off" says Wendy Wheatly, who has landscaped a beautiful wildlife oasis where a chlorine pool used to be.
